Sometimes all we need is an empathetic ear to hear what is going on. Sometimes as a listener, you needn’t say much at all. The simple space of silence to allow some one to dig deeper and deeper into how they are feeling can help unearth important personal information.
Ok, it is another Ted Talk. My last one in fact, other comics to make next. But here is a fantastic talk by a man called Carl Safina. All the credit goes to him and his team for the information shared here. His talk was very moving and so I wanted to try and share in this different format.

I have just finished a course of counselling, that was offered by an amazing Counselling Charity in East London, and I cannot express my gratitude enough for it. To talk to a trained individual about how you feel and what is going on in life can be truly life saving. Well done to Dixon Chibanda and all the women who worked to help so many.

Sometimes I just want to be in a parallel universe and not have to deal with the present moment. But really, it’ll never happen and I will always be in this one vast universe.

I have had some time trying to learn about the ins and outs of Comic Art and here is my comic about Alcohol. You’ll be happy to hear that I haven’t slipped into this cycle since writing this a good 3 weeks ago.
“The biological clock ramps up our metabolism early each day, initiating important physiological functions that tell our bodies that it’s time to rise and shine. Discovery of this new gene and the mechanism by which it starts the clock everyday may help explain the genetic underpinnings of sleeplessness, aging and chronic illnesses, such as cancer and diabetes, and could eventually lead to new therapies for these illnesses.”
